Storyline

The story follows a special task force combating terrorism, with Vijay portraying multiple roles. His character, Gandhi, faces a heart-wrenching moment upon discovering the death of his son in Thailand, showcasing Vijay’s talent for capturing raw vulnerability. However, the film struggles to maintain this emotional intensity throughout.

While the first half is engaging with some clever twists, the second half falters due to chaotic action sequences and subpar visual effects, particularly in the use of age-delaying technology. Vijay shines in his dual roles, balancing the heroism of one character with the darker complexities of another. The supporting cast, including Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, and Sneha, delivers strong performances, though at times, they are overshadowed by a cluttered plot and excessive visual effects.

Despite its reliance on nostalgia and a formulaic narrative, the film manages to capture audience interest toward the end. A high-energy CSK vs MI cricket match scene effectively combines suspense, humor, and mass appeal. However, the overall pacing suffers from a meandering narrative and an overuse of cameos, including an extended appearance by Yogi Babu.

 Summary

“GOAT” delivers strong performances and emotionally resonant moments but is hindered by a disjointed narrative, uneven visual effects, and a reliance on nostalgia. Venkat Prabhu’s attempt at creating a standout action thriller feels like a missed opportunity, as moments of genuine intrigue are overshadowed by the film’s flaws.
